When YO! MAJESTY’s self promoted Yo EP surfaced in 2006, everyone who heard it couldn’t help raising an eyebrow along with a fist. With a quickness, the liberating chant of “fuck dat shit” – echoed in the standout track “Club Action” – spread throughout the world as listeners began to wonder, “Just who the hell are these girls and what the hell is their deal?”

From Tampa Florida, YO! MAJESTY are Shunda K and Jwl B – a dynamo party duo willing and able to Fight The Power via their wild club jams. Loud and lascivious, out and proud the girls present an amalgam of hard-hitting hip hop, gospel, riot grrrl and crunk.

Their anticipated, never to be duplicated full-length, Futuristically Speaking… Never Be Afraid was released in September 2008 on Domino, produced with the help of Basement Jaxx and Radioclit amongst others. With shocking lyrics, deep spirituality, and matter of fact sexuality, they put on a whirlwind of a live show. Jwl B is moved to toplessness during most of her performances… “..your boy 50 Cent does his show with his shirt off. Why can’t I?” No reason we can think of!
