Handsome Tours, Astral People, and triple j are thrilled to announce that UK rap phenomenon Stormzy will be returning to Australian shores for an epic national tour in 2021. Following his critically acclaimed album Heavy Is The Head, Stormzy will perform his biggest shows to date in Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne & Brisbane this coming May.
The announcement follows a whirlwind year for Stormzy around the globe, which has seen him headline Glastonbury Festival and appear on the cover of Time Magazine.
The visit represents Stormzy’s first national run of Australian headline performances since his 2017 tour, which saw him sell out two Enmore Theatres in Sydney, two Forums in Melbourne, Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide and Metro City in Perth — not to mention his unforgettable appearance at Splendour In The Grass. The tour will celebrate his soon-to-be-released sophomore album, Heavy Is The Head — executively produced entirely by Stormzy himself; showcasing his world-class lyricism and musicality alongside many of his celebrated and relatable subject matters. The album also features additional vocals from some of the most exciting musicians of this generation all of whom have been hand-picked by Stormzy including, (alphabetical order) Aitch, Burna Boy, Ed Sheeran, Headie One, H.E.R., Tiana Major9 and YEBBA with production from Fred Gibson, Fraser T Smith, T-Minus and others.
Stormzy’s realness and encouragement to ‘Speak Your Truth’ has given grime a deservedly platform which has now transcended onto a global scale, resulting in Stormzy being one of the greatest artists in UK history.
