INTERPOL
Australian Tour February 2008
Having defined their own genre New York City’s purveyors of dark rock, Interpol, return to Australia for the third time in February 2008.
In 2005, Interpol turned on the bright lights at Splendour in The Grass and kept the crowd enthralled with their on stage antics. Their headline shows across Australia sold out in hours. With a new album, Our Love To Admire, under their belt Interpol step it up a notch on this tour playing their biggest venues yet.
Interpol recently headlined Coachella Festival in the USA and are currently on a massive US tour. Since the release of Our Love To Admire, the dapper gentlemen known for their suave style have been constantly on the road – from Summer Sonic Festival in Japan to major UK tours. Finally it is Australia’s turn to see the third album by one of the world’s top bands brought to life on stage.
Interpol first turned heads across the world in 2002 with their breakthrough definitive debut album, Turn On The Bright Lights. They quickly followed up this massive effort with the equally lauded Antics. Third album Our Love To Admire is their first album on major label Capitol records. Produced by Interpol and Rich Costey, Our Love to Admire takes a new approach to songwriting with rich orchestration and synergetic instrumental arrangements.
