EMILIANA TORRINI
Australian Tour January 2010
“Sweet, charming, effervescent, funny and delightfully honest; these are just some of the qualities that make Emiliana Torrini a natural entertainer.” – Faster Louder
“The blend of sonic adventurousness, stunning vocals (as always) and continually strong songwriting makes Me And Armini a near irresistible album” – Rave
She is renowned for her soothing, ethereal vocals – as evidenced via her performance of “Gollum’s Song” on the Lord of The Rings soundtrack – and her sublime, intimate songwriting (Kylie Minogue’s hit “Slow” is amongst her co-writing credits). Iceland’s Emiliana Torrini has made a very strong connection with Australian audiences via her Me and Armini and Fisherman’s Woman albums (which feature the hit singles “Big Jumps” and “Sunny Road” respectively), and her subsequent Australian tours in 2005 and 2008.
Exuberant, confident, warm and beguiling in the live environment, Emiliana Torrini will be playing just two shows outside of her appearances at the sold out Falls Festivals (http://www.fallsfestival.com.au), Sunset Sounds (http://www.sunsetsounds.com.au/) in Brisbane and Southbound (http://www.sunsetevents.com.au/) in Western Australia.
